An increasing number of vehicles are now accompanied with “fancy” designer type alloy wheels. Unfortunately this means that the need for a repair and refurbishment service is constantly growing. Top Service meets this demand with its commitment to three core goals, the finest premium finish, fastest service possible and an affordable price.
How the magic happens!
Here is an insight into the painted alloys process we carry out in our refurbishment centre. We use the latest state of the art machinery, all located on site, ensuring we can offer not only a quality service but an express turnaround too.
WHEELS ARRIVE
Once your wheels have arrived (you can drop them off, or we can collect and deliver) the tyres are removed using a multi brand approved fully automatic tyre remover machine
This will ensure that your alloys will never be damaged before or after the tyres are fitted. Your tyres are then marked for identification and stored separately on our racks. Your alloys will also be etched with a matching identification number in order to keep a repair track record of every alloy that we have repaired over time.
PREPARATION
Depending on the existing condition, we may either dip the alloys in a paint stripper to fully remove all surface paint to expose the original alloy, or, your alloys could be prepared in a specialist sand blaster machine which cleans and keys the alloy ensuring proper foundation. Using this machine is quicker than more traditional methods and produces a better surface result
CUTTING
The alloy is placed into our state of the art Haas CNC diamond lathe for precision cutting, pin pointing the exact locations of the damage. Once the data has been correlated, the diamond cutting process starts by slowly and gradually coming closer and closer to the alloy, cutting microns off each layer of the alloy. The machine spins the alloy at very high speeds with a rotary cylinder that holds the alloy in place. On the end of the machine, an incredibly precise sharp blade is located which has an electric mechanism beneath it for the machine to slide in and out smoothly, ensuring the alloy is not damaged by the high speed cutting of the tip
PAINTING APPLICATION
The alloys will be colour matched and painted to a beautiful finish. At this point, you may have the option to customise the colours or finish of your alloys. Please discuss this option with us
COOLED AND CHECKED
+ QUALITY CONTROL
The alloys take about 20-30 minutes to cool, and then they are carefully inspected by a technician to ensure the finish is perfect.
All alloys pass through a thorough quality control check to ensure they have met our minimum standards.
RE-FIT TYRES AND BALANCE
The final stage of the process is to re-fit your alloys back to their tyres. They are then balanced by our wheel balancer and are ready for collection or delivery.
